Red Ribbon Week
The MS made a video with their acting class, door decorating competition, themed days and pennies for patients. HS id decorations, pennies for patients, showed a power point, angle wings (in loving memory day, dedicated to people they had lost to drugs or alcohol). Bookmark contest.
YADAPP / STAN Plan
North Side won $100 in the homecoming parade and has $250 from the STAN plan. They would like to use this money to do their stan plan and want to make sweat shirts.
Magnet Updates
Not a big hit. People were taking them and selling them and teachers where having students remove them.
10 Reasons to be a Teen Now and a Parent Later
Reminder that the bookmark contest ends this Friday and to get entries in.
Places Selling Alcohol
Talked about opportunities with VA ABC for compliance checks. The students identified B&G, Layfette, and the store near CVS in Hollins as hot spots for underage buying.
North Side Sweatshirts
The design will be YADAP (sq) on the front, Be the Solution Not The Problem on the back and NS on the arm. Working on finding source.
YADAPP
The first YADAPP meeting will be at NS HS on November 19th at 4:00PM in the auditorium. This years events will be March 27th at NS followed by bandfest.
